The
Mustangs Band has been performing together since
1992. We play all the top radio dance hits from
the early 1960's to now. Our songlist (check it out) is extensive & we've also isolated some of our favorites...more obscure songs that most band do not play...these are the 'B' sides of the Motown, Classic R&B, 60's Soul, Classic 70's Radio Hits.
So if you are tired of the same old oldies that most bands are playing, we offer a hipper side of the music.
We also have a fat
selection of Sinatra, Big Band and Jump
Blues for the swing dancers out there..
Our goal is to keep the dance floor
packed...and we cover alot of musical ground...
...hopefully something for everyone, and as much of anything that you want to hear, feel and dance to.

Vogel
The
Mustangs are an 7 piece band with 3 lead
singers....total of 10 players.
We have a 3 piece horn section, a
percussionist & lots of vocals
producing a very big sound with a diverse
repertoire.
We
are 100% live-no sequencers, no
soundtracks. We play a wide variety of
styles. Over the past 14 years we've built
a repertoire of songs designed to keep the
dance floor packed all night.

Here's
a little bit about the players:
David
Akers
was part of Wilson Pickett's touring
band for many years. David's vocals covers
alot of ground-from James Brown, Sly
Stone, the Commodores, Earth Wind &
Fire, Otis Redding, Al Green and tehn all
the way back to Louis Armstrong, Dean
Martin, Bobby Darin and Frank Sinatra.
David is a well seasoned pro and gives his
all at every show.
Ignatius
Mason -intensly
sensual lead singer and is also a slamming
drummer. Ignatius covers all the classic
R&B favorites from Otis Redding to the
Four Tops, motown, Stax, and more. You'll
fall in love with his voice.
Patricia
Amakur-
covers all the classic hits from Aretha,
Etta James, Tina Turner and much much
more.
Pat also has a vast repertoire of
contemporary R&B.
James
Duval -
is the quintissential guitarist...slipping
easily between genres. James is old
school- he grew up playing soul, r&b,
motown, stax and 70's funk.

David
Panzer-The
Mustangs' bandleader, plays bass, ,
guitar, keys and sings a wide variety of
soul, funk, classic r&b and classic
rock & roll from Chuck Berry to Elvis.
He traveled the world as lead guitarist of
Wilson Pickett's touring band. He has also
worked with the Flamingos, Gene Chandler,
Sam Moore (of Sam and Dave), and many
other legends.
Horns-Our
dynamic three piece horn section (sax,
trumpet and trombone) gives the raw feel
and 100% live sound. The horns bring to
life the hits of the 60's through now and
especially the big band, swing and jump
blues selections.
Apple
Jack,
our percussionist, brings congas,
timbales, and all the bells and whistles
that make that
signature motown and 70's
sound.
